Simply Made Studio Say hello

Small software that asks for nothing and works beautifully.

A one-person studio in Sydney, building for the web and for phones. No accounts, no ads, nothing sent off your device.

The promise

Everything here opens without an account, shows no ads, keeps what you put in it on your device, and is tested before anyone relies on it.

  • None of the three projects contains login or account code. Settings are saved on the device you're using, and a JSON backup moves them to another one when you want.

  • Islam Everyday checks its own scripts on every test run and fails if analytics or account code ever appears. Everything is free to use.

  • Prayer times are worked out on the device, so your location never leaves it. Bouncy Calculator makes zero network requests. WorkRoaster ships a strict Content Security Policy that blocks outside scripts.

  • 96 tests on the calculator engine. 64 on WorkRoaster's pay cycles, rates and backups. Every one of the Qur'an's 6,236 ayat is checked in Arabic, English and Bangla, and sunrise times are compared with NOAA's calculation.

Islam Everyday's Today screen in Sydney: the current prayer, a countdown to Fajr and a chart of the sun through the day.
On the web now. Android coming soon.

Islam Everyday

A daily Muslim companion in English and Bangla: prayer times, the Qur'an, hadith, duas and the Hijri calendar.

  • It shows its sources. Every hadith links to sunnah.com, every explanation names the scholar it came from, and the app says plainly what no scholar has reviewed yet.
  • Bangla is first-class. The whole Qur'an in Bangla, with a short published explanation under every ayah, not a machine translation bolted on.
  • Your location never leaves your device. Prayer times and the sun chart are calculated on the device. No ads, no accounts, no analytics.

WorkRoaster's current pay cycle: $300.04 earned, 9 hours 37 minutes worked, with a bar for each shift.
On the web now. Android coming soon.

WorkRoaster

A work and pay ledger for people on shifts. Log a shift in seconds and see what each pay cycle should pay you.

  • Hours and minutes, never decimals. 2 h 22 m is stored as 142 minutes, so it is never mistaken for 2.22 hours and your rate is never quietly wrong.
  • Built around pay cycles. Friday to Thursday, fortnightly, several jobs at once, each with its own rate, weekend loading and rate history.
  • History is never rewritten. Change a rate or rename an option and past shifts still show exactly what you recorded.

Bouncy Calculator

A calculator where the maths is simple, so the feel is the product. Every key press is meant to be a small pleasure.

  • Fourteen themes, each based on a real object. Desk calculators, green-screen terminals, a Bauhaus poster, a blueprint. Each has its own type and key sound.
  • Games played on the keypad itself. Sprint, Make 24, Broken Keys and Estimate turn the calculator into practice.
  • A parser written by hand. No eval, so pasted text can never run code. About 23 KB of JavaScript, and it never touches the network.

    On Android

Native Android versions are in progress and will be published on Google Play as Simply Made Studio.

      Maker

      Made by Samiur Rahman.

I'm a final-year IT student at Charles Sturt University in Sydney, majoring in cyber security. That shapes how I build: as little to attack as possible, nothing to leak, and tests that prove the numbers before anyone relies on them.

Simply Made Studio is where my work lives: on the web today, and on Google Play soon. If something here helped you, or you'd like to work together, I'd like to hear about it.
